WHAT

The Fibre Shed

A tiny shop of curated wool goods, alpaca fibre from our farm, and wool care products.

We hand-select reclaimed wool pieces from around the world. Every sweater has a story: where the wool came from, who made it, and how it got here.

WHY

Every sweater has a story

It started with a handmade sweater at the bottom of a pile in an Amsterdam flea market. Made years ago, with plenty of wear still ahead.

Wool is warm, breathable, and naturally odour-resistant. It insulates while allowing moisture vapour to escape. With care and repair, a good wool piece can last a lifetime.

Wool can be found, repaired and has many many more lives ahead.

We love wool, we love growing fibre, we love how gosh darn cool the entire process is.

WHO

Amy Zimmerman

Amy runs The 44, a small fibre farm with food and flower gardens.

Her appreciation for wool starts with the people: farmers who care for their animals, friends knitting by the fireplace, and the clicking of her grandmother's needles.
